“Mystery of Love, History of Hope 2.0” Post #13: “Family Pack’s Love & Redemption”

Family Pack’s Love & Redemption

Chapter 1

Dad, have you heard from the council of elders yet? No son I haven’t. But we should soon. With Carmelia just having her baby and all of our new pregnant omegas, we need money right now. I did have a chance to talk to your Uncles Tomack and Striker to see if maybe we can count on them. In all my 63 years, I have never seen our pack this destitute. If something doesn’t change soon, I will have to give up my title as Clan Alpha of our pack. Pop, what are you thinking about right now? I see the imaginary frown lines on your face. Why do you look so unhappy? Well, to answer your first question, I’m thinking about your nephew Chris. I really miss my grandson. I wish I had never shunned him and made him feel so lonely that he left our pack. I don’t know where he’s at, I’m scared for him. He’s only 20 years old and he is out there alone. Now to answer your second question: with what happened to Chris and the lie that was told on him, I sometimes question my right as this pack’s Alpha. Before Bulldog could say anything they both heard a loud bang to the front door. They both ran out to see what happened to find Alpha Thunder’s two granddaughters running in the house with excited news. Uncle Bulldog and Papa Thunder, guess who we just saw not that far from our pack lands? You will never guess in a million years, hurry and guess! Both girls were jumping up and down excitedly as if they were 7 instead of 17 years old.

Ok, Larissa and Celeste, calm down before you shake the whole house, Alpha Thunder started to laugh. Now, Papa Thunder, before you go outside to see, please don’t get upset we ran into Chris and he took us shopping to get some food for our whole pack that’s here in Miami. Alpha Thunder and his son and enforcer Bulldog both gasped with their mouths opened so wide: “Did I hear you correctly? Head Enforcer/Bulldog asked. “Did you just say your big brother Chris was outside?” “Yep!” she replied. “But please listen to him before you tell him about our dad’s mental condition. How it deteriorated since he left,” she added. Ok, we won’t upset your brother because it would destroy him if he knew what your dad almost did to himself. Come outside to see Chris. But wait, where is dad anyway? he asked. “He’s in his room my beautiful niece. “DAD!” Larissa hollered at the top of her lungs, and just like clockwork, here comes Beast running out of his room. “Rissa, sweetie, what’s wrong?” “Nothing, pop didn’t mean to worry you, but I have a very special surprise for you outside.” “Sis, don’t you mean we have a special surprise?” “Oh yeah! Sorry about that! Pop, close your eyes and hold my hand. I have to take you outside for your surprise.” As soon as they were on the porch, Beast heard someone crying. He couldn’t tell who it was at first, so he opened his only good remaining eye to see his son Chris standing so tall well over 6’ feet. Beast didn’t run, he literally jumped from the porch and landed right in front of his son that he hadn’t seen in 2 years. All the clapping and background noise became silent as father and son hugged each other, no apologies were needed, just pure love from a sad father to his lost son. Chris couldn’t believe the sadness he saw in his father’s eyes: his one white eye was tearing up. “Thank our Heavenly Father that you are safe! I miss and love you son, so much.” “And I love you too pop. I heard about our family finances, so I brought with me a truck full of food from my new store, yeah pop I made it. I came back here hoping that you wouldn’t still be mad at me even though I didn’t do anything dishonorable.” “We found out the truth about a couple of weeks after you left the pack. We all tried to find you, but it seemed like you just disappeared.” “Well, I have something to tell you and someone for you to meet.” “Who?” “Everyone! Can I have your attention? This is my fated mate, my world, my bloodstream, and my very existence: my love Semaj Tagawe and our daughter, Beautiful Precious Desiree Deandra Tagawe. She’s 4 months old, but she can talk and she has all her baby teeth. She was born this way. Pop, I want you to hold your granddaughter first.” Beast looked so hurt at that moment: “Son, I can’t. I don’t want to scare her with my face. She might think that I’m a monster with my face like this. Wait, I have an idea!” Beast ran into the house to put his hoodie on so he could hide the scarred part of his face. When he went back outside ready to hold his grandchild, his son-in-law moved the baby from his out reached hands. His new son yelled at him, “You will not touch my daughter until you take that hoodie off right now.” Beast tried to tell him that the hoodie was to protect the baby from his face. “Pop, you don’t know me yet, but you will, I am a man of honor and I am telling you right now that you are very beautiful to me. Please show my daughter your true face so she will always know what love her grandfather showed her on this day.” Before Beast could say anything, he broke out crying because no one besides family had ever told him that he was beautiful in 26 years since the attack that changed his life forever. He held his granddaughter in his arms, and she looked up at her grandfather and started to smile showing all of her teeth.

“Mystery of Love, History of Hope 2.0” Post #12: “Mystery of Destiny of Love”

AYOWOLE OLADEJI

Mystery of Destiny of Love

Love is like a wave that passes through the desert storm covered with visible sand, storm swirling like hail of lightning bolts that sparkles across the sea, deep down to the surface of ocean velocity.

As the day begins to set, sun rises in the sky bright and sunny, shining, so hot, so hot that love of mystery appears in the sky, writing in bold letters colored with gold paint mixed with gray and black.

Suddenly mystery of love unleashes its power that was chained to the cave of Medusa’s kingdom, there breaking free from the depths of gods, as you find and fulfill your destiny, love of mystery soars high and mighty.

“Changing Light” Post #37: “Let them in”

ERIN UHELSKI

Let them in

Peaceful I stride, my limbs relaxed at my side.

The pads of my fingers brush past knee-high blades of grass. For a moment I forget.

Forget the pain, forget my self blame.

The blades bend at my touch, in response I flush.

So soft and intimate, so gentle and innocent.

The sky darkens as wayward clouds tumble. I should have known better, should have known I’d only bring trouble.

I turn away, gaze down. As always, it’s my fault.

You may not understand why, the guilt, the shame I feel inside.

It creeps and it crawls, it seeps and it gnaws.

Day after day I’m left in shambles.
My body ensnared by vicious brambles. They’re so unyielding. I can’t get out,
Can’t hardly whisper a cry for help.

I flip and I flail, I weep and I wail.
Whilst I heave myself doggedly against thorny branches.

My clothes are ripped, my blood it drips,
Apathetic, the world merely shrugs as it silently watches.

Someday I’ll have the strength with which to rip out these weeds, and the courage to recruit an army to restore this blighted prairie.

I’ve tried for so long to battle alone, but the cracks in my plan are quite easily shone.
I won’t make it out alive, and I’ll surely lose this fight.

When a hand extends, I’ll take a breath. I must accept.

Accept help, accept love.

Let them in. Let them in, to give me a fighting chance.

The din that was once a roar, will diminish to a clandestine purr. I’ll finally be able frolic through this meadow, laughing with both my lungs and properly bathe in shining sun.

One day, one day my day will come.
My soul shall be cleansed once again.
As long as I stay humble, brave, and vulnerable.
This battle, this battle will surely be won.

“Changing Light” Post #36: “The Tapestry of Fate”

PAIGE SAYER

The Tapestry of Fate

The intertwining strands of fate
Each future grows at its own rate
A glorious tapestry they make
A testament to all unique and great

As bold threads cross each other
They show the closeness of a brother
Jewel tones form the beautiful and good
An ever-nearness of sisterhood

When two lines meet and three come out
These two will learn what parenthood is about
When up and down cross left and right
This may be evidence of a fight

The curving lines form beautiful patterns
The beauty of the galaxy, Venus, Mars, and Saturn
When they make flowers, waves, or hills
It is an honor to see their glorious swirls

Fate will come and fate will go
We are all honored to be part of the show
As life goes on, we grow and grow
And our own tapestries have more to show

“Changing Light” Post #34: Eight Poems

BROOKE ARMSTRONG

The Whole World Felt Asleep

The whole world felt asleep
Wrapped in blankets made of the night sky
Pillows made of clouds
Comforted and sound asleep
I felt nothing but a cold breeze
Uneasy and restless

Keep Going

Dear it’s okay you messed up
It’s all part of the journey
Pick yourself up
Continue down the path
You won’t regret it
For the end is so beautiful
Nothing else will matter

Flowers Do Blossom

Mother nature
Tears dripping down her face
Rivers on the road
Crying
Seeping up the sad tears
Flowers blossom

Gold Rush

We cannot search
For what we must find
Stumble upon the gold in life

——-

Moving On

Scorched
Scorn
Yet,
I will bleed
I will bleed
Until it’s all light

Love the Journey

In love with my journey
Through and through.

In this crazy blissful world
So indefinitely lost like the rest.

Seated in the faith
My truest path lies
Where my heart feels still

So full of life
Despite it all

Be Free

Be free
You’re the true verdict of your journey
Run towards your true sense of peace
Don’t dare to stray

Death Cycles

My current potential
May feel all but choked out

I will wait for the surge
The burst of energy

I will renew myself
Become something bigger than I know

My quest for a righteous life
Does not burn out

You’ll watch my pains
Turn to products

“Mystery of Love, History of Hope 2.0” Post #8: “Our Vows”

MARYAM BARRIE

Our Vows

I wrote two pages of Rilke quotes, heartfelt love oaths.
He lost his page, swooped me movie star kiss
over his arm. We have kept our promises.
Some sorry years so hard, so long.
Others flew, too sweet to last.
We rotate our weaknesses,
our aging bodies
still tuned
harmonically.
